About Hristina Hasamova

Hi, my name is Hristina Hasamova.
I am a guide, a teacher and a forever student of Life.

I was born and raised in the embrace of the Rhodope mountains in Bulgaria, surrounded by old trees, bears, rich history and a colourful culture. These mountains were the land of Orpheus and Dionysus and became the birthplace of their myths, stories and legends.

I grew up in a post-communistic Eastern European household, and since I was a child I struggled with self-acceptance, communication, intimacy and access to my emotions. In my late 20s I was a young woman dealing with food issues, broken relationships, body image, and support in general and my creative impulses were blocked.

All these threads were becoming more and more entangled within me and lead me step by step into the arms of an eating disorder- anorexia, built around self neglect, lack of acceptance and deep discomfort of being in a woman’s body. I worked myself into two burnouts and from 2020 to 2023 I struggled with severe psychosis, panic attacks and depression, which later I realised were the beginning of a long initiatory process.

In 2022 I met Katie Ni Mhathuna and the field of Anam School of Shamanic Arts and I am a student and an apprentice in shamanic arts ever since.

I went through a divorce when I was 34 and have lived in 3 different countries for the past 15 years. Currently I live in co. Mayo, Ireland in residential apprenticeship with Anam Shamanic Arts and I am coming back to my roots in Bulgaria as often as I can.
